Marginata Dwarf Banksia marginata is a shrub to small tree in the genus Banksia. It occurs in the south west of Western Australia between Shark Bay and Geraldton, with an outlying population in the Stirling Ranges. It grows in a variety of habitats, including sandplains, limestone hills, heath and shrubland.

B. marginata generally has a single trunk with a dense crown of dark green leaves. The leaves are narrow and have serrated margins. The flowers are yellow, with prominent red styles. They are borne in dense cylindrical inflorescences known as ‘banksiascones’. Flowering occurs between July and November, peaking in September and October.
Fruit ripens between November and February, and is eventually dispersed by birds. Banksia marginata is killed by fire, but regenerates from seed.
